Sports minister pressures WADA on Russia

Russia’s failure to hand over data from its anti-doping laboratory by its specified deadline should be dealt with quickly and efficiently, Australia’s minister for sport says.

The World Anti-Doping Agency last week confirmed Russia had missed its December 31 deadline to supply the data, with the matter to be dealt with by the independent compliance review committee on January 14.

“The Russian doping saga has now plagued world sport for several years, and a definitive resolution is well overdue. It is therefore critical that this current compliance matter be dealt with effectively and expeditiously,” Senator Bridget McKenzie said in a statement on Sunday.
